Maybe
commuting is leaving you exhausted and worried
that you won’t get home quickly enough if
there’s an emergency with your child. Even
with current parental leave provisions, the day-to-day
demands of your job probably don’t give
you the flexibility to take time off when you
need it, when your child is ill, or when they
have a special event at school that they really
want you to attend.
And
the other side of the coin is childcare. Finding
good childcare has never been straightforward.
Day nurseries often have rigid opening hours,
which don’t always suit your working day.
That’s, of course, assuming that you can
get a place in one, without having to put your
child’s name on the waiting list virtually
from the moment they were conceived. Nannies are
expensive and good childminders can be hard to
find. They get sick and want to take holidays
at times that may not be convenient for you.
That’s
pre-school, but are your children older?
When your children were babies, you thought that
childcare would get easier when they went to school.
Then you’re faced with the reality of school
hours and school holidays, which are a complete
mismatch with your contracted hours and annual
leave entitlement. Fortunately, the Government
is waking up to this fact and provision is getting
better, but that may not be the complete answer
for you. Maybe you want to have more time with
your children, rather than putting them into after
school clubs and holiday clubs all the time.
Whatever
your situation or the ages of your children,
you know you don’t want to continue on
as you are, but you just don’t know what
else to do. Perhaps you’ve never really
considered all the options open to you.
This
is where the Career Changer programme comes
in. The programme will look at what
alternative career options there are for you.
Options that could mean more working from home
or hours to fit in better with the school day
and term time, options that will give you the
flexibility you need. It could be within employment
or it could be setting up your own business.
Taking time to fully explore the possibilities
could open up opportunities to reduce your reliance
on childcare and be a Mum, who works, as well
as a Mum, who’s around for her kids.
Imagine
what your life would be like if you could find
a career that:
•
Gives you fulfilment and satisfaction
• Uses your skills and experience
• Means you can enjoy being a mother
• Allows you the flexibility to be
there for your children
• Brings in the level of income you
need
• Fits in with all you want your life
to be
If
that sounds too good to be true, read on
to find out how the Career Changer programme
can make it a reality for you.
The
Programme in Brief
The
Career Changer programme is a unique,
tried and tested, programme that draws on
your own innate resourcefulness to help
you identify a new career direction, which
will suit you as a mother. It includes exercises
and profound guided meditations, which will
bring out that creativity and resourcefulness
in you, and direct it toward discovering
the right next step for your working life.
The
programme has been designed in three phases,
each of which has been named after this
quotation from Mark Twain: EXPLORE.
DREAM. DISCOVER.
"Twenty
years from now you will be more disappointed
by the things you didn’t do than
by the ones you did. So throw off the
bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore.
Dream. Discover."
Explore
This
first stage of the programme is all about
finding out exactly what you want from your
work and what makes you tick. You’ll
get a clear idea of your values, your life
purpose, your motivations and your strengths,
interests and achievements. You’ll
identify your ideal working pattern and
your preferred working environment, to combine
work and motherhood.
Dream
This
is a very creative part of the programme
when you will generate a number of possible
new career choices, based on what
you found out during the EXPLORE stage.
The DREAM stage will encourage you let your
mind run riot, to dream of all that could
be possible, to think outside the box. You’ll
then choose the best options to focus on.
Discover
The
final stage of the programme takes your
options from the DREAM stage forward
and looks at how you can make them happen.
You’ll turn your dream into a practical
proposition and create a soundly based action
plan of the next steps you need to take
to make it a reality.
How
it Works
The
Career Changer programme is a mixture
of exercises and face-to-face or ‘phone
sessions to help you EXPLORE, DREAM and
DISCOVER the right career choice for you.
The
programme typically consists of 12 sessions,
although this can be flexible, with exercises
to complete in between sessions.
Sessions
can last anything from 30 minutes to an
hour, depending on how much you want to
cover each time.
You
choose the frequency of sessions, although
weekly or fortnightly sessions are best
to help you make progress quickly.
The
investment for the programme is:
Premium
Rate:
£400
per month for face-to-face sessions
£300
per month for ‘phone sessions
Includes
exercises and unlimited e-mail support between
sessions
£300

Follow-up
sessions
At
the end of the Career Changer programme,
some clients are happy to take their action
plan and go off and make it happen. Others
find that regular follow-up sessions give
them the support and encouragement, not
to mention the focus and determination,
that they need to achieve their career goals.
You can add on follow-up sessions to the
main programme for the same kind of rates
as shown above.
